I have been diving into bandcamp trying to find as much new music I liked as possible every now and then for quite a while, and I got back into it this month, and now that I have this site i think I should share the stuff I like when I decide to dive into bandcamp! Mostly what I look for is post punk, egg punk, emo, noise rock/pop, hypnagogic pop, garage rock, and anything lofi so if you're into that stuff you'll probably find something to enjoy here.
Really good unique screamo that's heavy and hits hard. Great stuff! Stand-out tracks: the surface of lake ontario lies below the bottom of lake erie, at 6:45 am i saw your ghost by my bedroom window
This song is the single this band has released from their upcoming album Sit Down For Rock and Roll, the cover of which really caught my eye. Very good, catchy lo-fi track, I will be looking out for when the album drops!
Very good emo influenced folk record with clearly a lot of love and emotion put into it, very big fan of the singer's inflections. Stand-out tracks: 1234-24, морфей (ft. шумные и угрожающие выходки), пустяк
Very solid deliciously lo-fi record that brings in textures from '60s surf and garage while retaining a modern indie sound. Stand-out tracks: Mirrors, Let's Talk About Nothing, Finish Line
This one reminds me a lot of The Garden, very solid surf punk EP. Stand-out tracks:
Minimal synth is not a genre I see a whole lot of but I really love this kinda stuff - I love Solid Space and Oppenheimer Analysis and it's cool seeing more music with that sound. Stand-out tracks: Chopping Mall
This was a positively delightful listen. The intimate home recorded cassette sound of the intro is a great start to the album and the rest of the album is very solid power pop with great vocals that I can't get enough of. Stand-out tracks: Gravits, Lyra Intro
I had actually heard of and listened to this band a little bit before and I really liked their music but I sort of forgot about them until I saw them again while exploring bandcamp.
I had also listened to this band before and remembered about them while exploring bandcamp and decided to listen to the album in full. My friend and boyfriend's former roommate Rob talked about them and played Entomological Field Research in his car once or twice and I thought it was fantastic, and I absolutely still do.
Incredible lo-fi alt rock that blends so many different sounds and takes you through many emotions, huge fan of this one. Reminds me of some modern lo-fi storytellers like Weatherday and Asian Glow. Made even better by the fact that I believe djuno is trans and the album seems to be about him coming to terms with his identity. Stand-out tracks: Mina (Blend In Before They Find You), Oktah, Cursor
Absolutely killer screamo, it has a bit of a lo-fi demo sound and it gives it even more of an edge and suits the music so well.
Great short punk record that's perfectly lo-fi and has lots of energy not to mention fantastic vocals, featuring both male and female vocals. Sometimes sounds a bit surf punk-ish, which I love.
Growing up in Chicago I've always been a bit of a Wisconsin hater but this is pretty awesome.
Fantastic EP
Really good stuff, I accidentally fell asleep with this on loop one night and streamed this artist 300 times because of it
Another one I'd heard of before this but never really checked them out before now, a record store I used to go to semi-often in Cleveland called Haus Frau Records posted Coneheads records on social media sometimes and I could tell I'd love it from the cover but never got around to it.
